The Shuswap Makerspace is based on the premise of a shared economy: shared resources, shared equipment, shared tools and shared skills. A place for everyone, from youth seniors, hobbyists to inventors and a great chance to connect with other through learning new technologies.

FIELD TRIPS
The Shuswap Makerspace is proud to host field trips for youth in Salmon Arm. Thanks to our partnership and close working relationship with School District 83, we are able to offer field trips at $10 per student. Field trips are connected to the curriculum through design thinking in project-based learning, hands-on experiences, developing technical skills and competencies, involving the 4 C’s (Creative, Collaborative, Critical Thinking, Communication), and are adaptable and blended to the needs and level of the students. We know that everybody learns at their own pace and in their own unique style. The Makerspace aims to be a community hub where knowledge, skills and friendships are developed together through shared experiences and participative learning.
